Half way through the book and the material is sound ...

Half way through the book and the material is sound. My reason for rating it lower is not having the answers available at the end of the chapter. After reaching out, it's apparently since the publisher doesn't want that material to leak since it can be used for college level quizes, etc. Well, i'm not a college student, and i find that being able to validate what i've leared a helpful thing. Without the answers, it's sometimes hard to validate that. They need to find a way to make that work.

More of a Manual than a textbook

The textbook covers a lot of material and you should learn everything you need but the writing style is difficult to follow at times. Because there's so many instructions and mnemonics to learn, it covers everything with brief examples that will be hard to understand at first, specially chapters 2 through 4. I realized late in the game that the book covers details more and more as you proceed so don't get too stuck when certain things don't make complete sense. There's still something missing about this textbook. It feels more like a manual than a textbook book.

Does not teach 64-bit programming

If you are looking to learn 64-bit assembly language programming, this book is not for you. The book teaches 32-bit and has a couple of pages on 64-bit at the end of every chapter. The core concepts are taught in 32-bit.
